Omda Emergency signs new contract with the National Single Service for Emergency Number 112 in the Republic of Moldova

Omda is pleased to announce the signing of a new contract with the National Single Service for Emergency Number 112 in the Republic of Moldova. With the completion of the tender process, Omda is now set to perform a complete system modernisation for Moldova’s nationwide emergency call-taking and dispatch solution.

By implementing the innovative Omda Incident solution, Omda empowers the National Single Service for Emergency Number 112 by ensuring access to a comprehensive, detailed and nuanced overview of the emergency environment. The solution also works to improve inter-agency communication, call handling and dispatch support, enhancing performance and driving cost-saving efficiencies in the process.

Transitioning to a more powerful emergency response solution
The system modernisation involves the development and integration of several new technologies, with the new solution migrating telephony protocols from E1 to SIP and paving the way for the next generation of emergency response tools. It will provide AMLv2 functionality for advanced mobile location capabilities and incorporate existing SMS and cell-ID integrations using the Omda Incident ResQServices module.

Crucially, the new solution also enables improved 24/7 support and enables Omda to work closely with the client for a more iterative upgrade process. As part of the project, Omda will oversee installation and provide solution training for the operators of the National Single Service for Emergency Number 112.

Establishing the foundations for NG112 technologies
While the system modernisation delivers immediate benefits for the customer, it also lays the groundwork for future NG112 services, assisting in the transition to internet-based communications. This opens up the potential for more diverse data streams, enabling emergency organisations to leverage location data, real-time text, photos, video calls and other information to complement voice channels.

Omda Incident empowers dispatchers and call handlers
Operating in a country with a population of 3.3 million, the National Single Service for Emergency Number 112 processes approximately 2.5 million calls every year. The new contract with Omda represents an opportunity to improve emergency response performance while implementing a digital system that can evolve and adapt to the challenges and opportunities that will define the emergency sector in the coming years.

Omda Emergency looks forward to working closely with the National Single Service for Emergency Number 112 to deliver the project and ensure Moldovan call takers and dispatchers can provide outstanding support to emergency responders and the public.
