Omda attends Las Vegas EMS World Expo to present the Readiness Portfolio

From September 9th-13th, 2024, Omda will attend the EMS World Expo in Las Vegas to showcase the Omda Readiness product portfolio and its new Playback solution

Omda Readiness at the EMS World Expo

An innovative application of Omda EMS experience and expertise, the Playback solution enables EMS organizations to replay historical incidents and analyze the response using advanced visualization and data tools. Providing a comprehensive visualization of events and establishing a single version of the truth, it enables organizations to assess compliance with best practice standards, use learnings to improve future responses and defend the organization against litigation or reputational damage. Playback is available as both a standalone solution and as a module of the wider Omda Readiness-Live package.

On Wednesday 11th at 3pm, the Omda Readiness team will present a talk entitled ‘Are budget defense, improved staff welfare, and optimized response times mutually exclusive?’. The discussion will draw on first-hand experience of how Omda Readiness is enabling emergency service organizations around the world to respond to emerging challenges.

Showcasing the entire Omda Readiness portfolio

Omda Readiness equips emergency service organizations with state-of-the-art modeling and analytics capabilities, enabling them to better understand and optimize resource use, drive efficiencies and improve patient outcomes. At the same time, it reduces costs, enabling EMS providers to extract more value from their budgets.

The Omda Readiness product portfolio consists of the Predict, Live, and Playback solutions. The Predict solution facilitates groundbreaking ‘What-If?’ modeling capabilities, enabling users to test operational adjustments, decisions, and ideas in a virtual environment before applying them in the real world. The Live solution provides real-time dispatch support, assisting dispatchers by streamlining workflows and ensuring easy access to all pertinent information. Finally, the Playback solution allows for unprecedented insight into historical cases, which can be utilized to inform future responses, train dispatchers or defend the organization against litigation or reputational damage.

Technology that tackles the EMS issues specific to North America

In North America, EMS organizations face challenges that make securing patient safety and delivering high-quality services more difficult than ever. Complex funding arrangements are struggling to keep pace with the rising costs of providing services. Financial pressures mean burnout amongst frontline staff is a growing concern (NAEMSP). Many EMS providers fail to capture the full revenue due because insurance companies apply billing declines or sub-optimal reimbursement rates, placing additional pressure on budgets (NAEMT). All of these factors are exacerbated by significant “brain drain”, with EMS professionals seeking jobs in hospitals, Police and Fire Departments in the hope of better pay and working conditions.

While many of these issues are structural, innovative digital solutions can help EMS providers overcome some of the most pressing challenges. Omda Predict’s modeling power has been used to inform objective, data-driven funding processes and enable organizations to acquire more funding. Hugh Bennett, Assistant Director of Commissioning and Performance at the Welsh Ambulance Service in the UK, explained how the solution has improved their funding processes. “When we’re building business cases for consideration by our commissioners and other stakeholders, there is no doubt Omda Readiness modeling is a powerful tool that supports our arguments and helps secure resources to deliver better performance and improve patient safety.”

Omda Readiness can deliver significant change

The Omda Readiness portfolio has the potential to transform EMS in North America, helping organizations overcome many of the biggest obstacles they face today. Omda’s work with emergency service providers in other regions provides compelling evidence that the solutions have a positive impact on service provision, enabling organizations to optimize resource use, make evidence-based arguments for reasonable funding, and enact operational changes that improve staff well-being. As such, we look forward to presenting the solutions and demonstrating their capabilities at EMS World.
