G-Cloud 14 Approval for Omda’s Health Analytics Solutions

Omda has received G-Cloud 14 approval for its Health Analytics solutions, making it easier for UK public sector organisations to access our cloud-based tools.

Designed to simplify the purchasing process for cloud-based solutions and services for public sector organisations, the G-Cloud 14 framework improves access to innovative technology that meets several well-defined performance, safety and security standards. The approval means Omda Health Analytics will be better positioned to serve UK customers, which currently include University College London (UCL) and Imperial College London (ICL), and will lead to new opportunities to expand in the UK market.

What Solutions are Available via G-Cloud 14?

Omda Health Analytics has two solutions listed in the G-Cloud 14 catalogue: our Biobank Management System and our Database Application, which is used for various research applications, including clinical trials. Both systems provide research and healthcare organisations with the analytical tools required to maximise the value of the data they collect, empowering them to extract, manage, and analyse data to drive innovations in medical practice and scientific understanding. The systems also improve traceability, enable complex user access rights, and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.

What does G-Cloud 14 approval mean?

The G-Cloud 14 framework aims to guarantee the efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness of cloud solutions for public sector organisations and charities. It does so by ensuring all solutions listed through the G-Cloud 14 catalogue meet requirements in several criteria, including data security, GDPR compliance and sustainability. Suppliers must also demonstrate that they are financially secure.

Importantly, G-Cloud 14 approval means buyers can purchase solutions in one of three approved fields – Cloud Hosting, Cloud Software and Cloud Support – via Direct Award, without requiring a competitive tendering process.

Why G-Cloud 14 approval matters for buyers

For buyers, the G-Cloud 14 framework drastically streamlines the procurement process, making it easier, quicker and cheaper to find the technology required. By removing obstacles to cloud procurement, the G-Cloud 14 encourages innovation and ensures cloud technologies are viable for public sector organisations of all types and sizes. At the same time, by ensuring that listed solutions meet relevant security, sustainability and performance requirements, the framework acts as an effective risk mitigation measure.

What does the approval mean for Omda Health Analytics?

For Omda Health Analytics, G-Cloud 14 approval improves our ability to continue delivering industry-leading analytics solutions to UK customers. In recent years, our solutions have been used by, among others, UCL, ICL, Oxford University and the University of Birmingham. They have played important roles in initiatives such as Oxford University’s INTERBIO-21st and INTERGROWTH-21st studies, which aimed to study the impact of nutrition on fetal growth and development and gather and leverage pregnancy data to develop new targeted interventions and screening tools. Similarly, they were used in the University of Birmingham’s ROCkeTS study, which developed tests and risk prediction models to estimate the likelihood of the presence of ovarian cancer in women who displayed symptoms.

Crucially, G-Cloud 14 approval also opens up the UK market for Omda Health Analytics. Having solutions listed in the G-Cloud 14 online catalogue makes them more accessible, easier to find, and simpler to procure. Ultimately, this approval ensures that more researchers and healthcare professionals can use Omda Health Analytics solutions. The ability to leverage previously untapped health data will promote new studies, further research, and greater innovation, driving scientific progress and delivering tangible benefits for patients in the long run. G-Cloud 14 approval is a significant development in our ability to provide the tools needed to achieve these outcomes in the UK market.
